SEND Teaching Assistant
Protocol Edcuation are looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant for one of our schools in Sunderland.
About the Role
We’re looking for a compassionate and committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join a nurturing specialist setting where every child is given the tools and support to thrive. As a SEND TA, you’ll work closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff to create a learning environment built on trust, belonging, and opportunity.
What You’ll Be Doing

Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with diverse needs

Supporting the delivery of tailored learning programmes

Promoting independence and emotional wellbeing in every interaction

Working closely with the SENCO and wider team to adapt strategies that make a real difference

Encouraging pupils to embrace challenges with confidence and resilience
What We’re Looking For

Experience supporting children or young people with SEND (school-based or otherwise)

A patient, calm, and positive approach to behaviour management

Strong communication and teamwork skills

A genuine passion for helping every child reach their full potential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
