SEND Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Role

Looking to make a real difference in children’s lives every single day? We’re supporting a specialist setting in Peterle that needs a calm, compassionate, and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team.
You’ll be working closely with pupils who have a range of complex learning needs, including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional, and mental health challenges. This is a school where every small step forward is celebrated, and where your patience, kindness, and resilience will mean the world to the young people you support.
What you’ll be doing:

Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs

Helping children access the curriculum through tailored strategies and creative approaches

Supporting behaviour management using positive, trauma-informed techniques

Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and support staff to create a nurturing learning environment
What we’re looking for:

Experience supporting children or young people with SEND (school-based or care settings)
-
A calm, empathetic approach, even in challenging situations
-
Strong communication skills to build trust with pupils and staff alike
-
Thrive training or a willingness to complete it through our free CPD offer

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
