We’re on the lookout for a brilliant SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Sunderland. You’ll be working 1:1 with a pupil who needs a bit of extra support—someone to help them navigate their day and feel safe, heard, and ready to learn.
If you’re steady under pressure, good with routines, and have a knack for building trust, you could be just the person they’re looking for.
What you’ll be doing:

Supporting a pupil with additional needs throughout the school day

Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and family to keep things consistent

Helping to create a calm, structured environment

Celebrating the small wins (because they matter most)
You should have:

Experience supporting children or adults with SEND (in school or elsewhere)

A patient, empathetic approach

A strong sense of boundaries and a gentle sense of humour

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
