Your calm makes the chaos manageable

Some classrooms need a little extra magic—and you’ve got it.
If you’re steady, intuitive, and brilliant at building trust, this SEND TA role in a warm Birmingham primary could be your next big thing.

About the school

Set in a friendly, community-driven area and rated Good by Ofsted, this school is all about kindness, connection, and calm.
They believe pupils learn best when they feel safe, seen, and supported—and when their values are lived, not laminated. It’s a setting where wellbeing isn’t a buzzword, it’s a daily practice.

You’ll be joining a team where support staff are genuinely valued, pupils are supported to thrive, and the headteacher leads with compassion and clear vision. The kind of place where you’re not just part of the team—you’re key to how the team runs.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting the class teacher across lessons and routines
  • Offering gentle, reassuring 1:1 and small group support
  • Helping pupils with SEND stay regulated, engaged, and learning
  • Pitching in for transitions, sensory breaks, and messy play
  • Celebrating every little win (with a sticker or a dance break—your call)

About you

  • You hold a Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Childcare & Education (or similar)
  • You’ve worked with SEND pupils—maybe even in a similar setting
  • You’re calm, caring, and quietly confident
  • You believe in small steps, steady progress, and always having biscuits in the staffroom
