We’re working with several fantastic schools in Newcastle who are looking for SEND Teaching Assistants ready to make a real difference in September. These roles are in both specialist and mainstream settings, supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, global developmental delay, and more.
What you’ll be doing:

Supporting pupils 1:1 or in small groups to help them access learning and feel confident

Using visual aids, consistent routines, and sensory strategies to support engagement

Helping with personal care, where needed

Working closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and families to track progress and adapt support
What we’re looking for:
You might have classroom experience, or maybe you’ve supported young people in care or community settings. Either way, you’ll need to be:

Calm, caring, and up for a challenge

Great at building trust and communicating clearly

Open to learning strategies like PECS, Makaton, or sensory circuits

DBS checked (or happy to get one through us)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
