Salary: £89 - £108 per day (depending on experience)

Protocol Education is working closely with a number of inclusive and welcoming SEND schools across Gateshead. These schools are seeking dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistants to join their teams from September 2025.
The Role:
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

Work 1:1 or with small groups of pupils with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and MLD.

Support class teachers in delivering tailored learning activities.

Help to create a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment.

Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families.

Monitor progress and contribute to reports and support plans.
The Ideal Candidate Will:

Have experience supporting children or young people with SEND (in education, care, or community settings).

Be calm, patient, and resilient in challenging situations.

Understand the importance of safeguarding and behaviour support strategies.

Be willing to work collaboratively with the wider team.
-
Hold (or be willing to apply for) an enhanced DBS on the Update Service.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
