SEND Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support

Location: Thamesmead, Greenwich
Start: September 2025 | Full-Time | Part-Time \ Day to Day 

About the Role:

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a primary-aged child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and some behavioural needs. The successful candidate will:

  • Support the child in class, helping them access the curriculum in line with their EHCP
  • Recognise when the child needs short breaks and facilitate a smooth return to learning
  • Assist with both academic and emotional development
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide consistent, high-quality support

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEN, particularly ASD and behavioural needs (essential)
  • A calm, patient and flexible approach to support and behaviour management
  • Available to trial during the first week of September
  • Able to commit to a full-time, long-term role
