We’re supporting a group of brilliant SEND schools in Newcastle that work with children and young people with a wide range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD), SEMH, and communication challenges.
Whether you’re an experienced SEND Teacher or a qualified mainstream teacher ready to make the move into specialist education, we’d love to help you find a role where your impact is felt every day.
What you’ll be doing:

Planning and delivering creative, adapted lessons for small groups or 1:1 sessions

Aligning your teaching to EHCP targets and individual learning goals

Using inclusive and trauma-informed approaches to build pupil trust and engagement

Supporting and collaborating with a team of TAs, therapists, and families

Creating a calm, consistent classroom environment where all learners feel seen and safe
What you’ll need:

QTS or QTLS (essential)

Experience working in a SEND or alternative provision setting (ideal, not essential)

A flexible, compassionate approach to behaviour support and emotional regulation
-
Strong classroom management and curriculum adaptation skills
-
A genuine drive to improve outcomes for children with additional needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
