Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Location: Sunderland
Salary: £89–£110 per day
Contract: Full-time, Long-Term
Start Date: September 2025

Looking for a role where your support goes beyond the classroom? This could be it.

We’re working with a brilliant specialist school in Sunderland that supports children with autism, ADHD, SEMH needs, and complex learning profiles. It’s a place where pupils often arrive feeling misunderstood-but with the right support, they begin to thrive.

This is your chance to be part of that journey.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you won’t just be helping with lessons. You’ll be part of a team that helps young people rebuild trust in education, develop coping strategies, and celebrate personal wins—whether it’s a completed worksheet or a calm morning routine.

What makes this role special:

  • Smaller class sizes and a calm, structured environment

  • A focus on emotional wellbeing, not just academic progress

  • Opportunities to work with therapists, mentors, and specialist staff

  • A team that values every staff member’s input and impact

What you’ll bring:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND or SEMH

  • A calm, nurturing approach-even when the day feels upside down

  • Flexibility, teamwork, and a good sense of humour

  • A genuine passion for helping young people feel seen and supported

Thrive trained? Even better. Not yet? We’ll help you get there with free access to Thrive training through Protocol Education. It’s a powerful tool for working in therapeutic and trauma-informed settings-and it’s something schools really value.

We offer:

  • Weekly PAYE pay-no hidden deductions

  • Free online CPD and training

  • Ongoing support from your dedicated SEND consultant

  • Roles that match your values and working style

  • A smooth, simple registration process

  • A referral scheme with rewards for every friend you bring on board

If you're ready for a role where you’ll be appreciated, supported, and inspired-let’s talk.
