The Role: As a Primary Teacher in our SEND school, you will play a crucial role in creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for children with a range of special educational needs. You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of each student, promoting their academic, social, and emotional development. Collaborating with other educators and support staff, you will work towards achieving personalized learning goals and supporting students to reach their full potential.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver differentiated lessons to meet the diverse needs of students with SEND
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and development
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback and adapting teaching strategies accordingly
- Collaborate with other teachers, support staff, and specialists to develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students
- Maintain accurate records of student achievement, behaviour, and attendance
- Establish effective communication channels with parents/guardians and provide regular updates on student progress and well-being
- Implement strategies to manage behaviour and create a safe and supportive learning environment
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly in a primary setting (desirable)
- A genuine passion for working with children with SEND and a commitment to their well-being and educational development
- Knowledge of various SEND conditions, strategies, and interventions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to differentiate instruction to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities
- Resilience, patience, and a positive attitude in challenging situations
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to SEND education (desirable)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
