Part-Time Maths Teacher (2 days a week) - SEND focus
South Gloucestershire | 0.4 FTE | Permanent Contract available
Teach with purpose. Support with compassion. Change what school means to a young person.
We’re on the lookout for a qualified and enthusiastic Maths teacher ready to make a genuine impact in a more personalised, small-group setting. If you’re passionate about inclusive education and want to help students reconnect with learning, this could be your next role.
This isn’t your average classroom post. You’ll be delivering pre-teaching, catch-up, and full GCSE Maths content to students with additional needs—either due to cognition and learning barriers or emotional-based school avoidance. Sessions are small-group or 1:1, and your support could be the difference that gets a student re-engaged with their education.
What you’ll be doing:
-
Teaching GCSE Maths to students with SEND, SEMH or communication needs
-
Delivering lessons in small groups or 1:1, often with a focus on confidence, scaffolding, and personalisation
-
Working closely with SEND teams to build trust and slowly reintegrate students into wider learning
-
Contributing to an inclusive, flexible and student-led learning environment
What we’re looking for:
- Qualified teacher (QTS) with experience teaching Maths up to KS4
- Confident delivering content outside of a traditional classroom setup
- Sensitive to the needs of young people with SEMH, autism or school-based anxiety
- A great communicator who builds strong relationships with learners and colleagues
- Someone with a flexible mindset, ready to adapt and meet students where they’re at
- Open to job share or flexible scheduling—working days to be agreed at interview
What’s in it for you:
- Fewer pupils, more impact – work 1:1 or with small groups
- Ongoing professional development and subject support
- A part-time role that fits your schedule and lifestyle
- Wellbeing, pension, and a suite of trust-wide staff benefits
- Shared Maths curriculum and resources to reduce planning load
