Job Description: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Year 6 Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to supporting and enhancing the learning experience of students with special educational needs, ensuring they reach their full potential in a supportive and engaging environment.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of SEN students in Year 6.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that supports both academic and social-emotional development.
  • Conduct regular assessments and monitor students' progress, adjusting teaching strategies as necessary to meet their needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for each student, working closely with parents, caregivers, and other professionals.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
  • Foster strong relationships with students, providing them with encouragement and support.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative approach to each student's education.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in SEN education.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of students' progress and achievements.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
  • Proven experience teaching in a classroom setting, preferably with SEN students.
  • Strong knowledge of the curriculum and best teaching practices for SEN students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
