You’re the calm in the classroom storm. Let’s find a role where that really matters.
We’re on the lookout for a patient, proactive, and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a brilliant school in Wakefield this September. You’ll be working closely with pupils who need a little extra help navigating the school day—whether that’s managing transitions, building confidence, or simply having someone steady by their side.
What you’ll be doing:
-
Supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, or SEMH needs
-
Helping learners feel safe, understood, and included
-
Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to support progress
-
Creating calm, structured spaces that help students thrive
What you’ll bring:
-
Experience supporting children or young people with SEND
-
A calm, consistent approach (even when the day doesn’t go to plan)
-
Real empathy and top-tier listening skills
-
Bonus points if you’ve done Thrive or trauma-informed training—but we can help with that too!
Why this school?
This setting really gets the value of support staff. You’ll be part of a close-knit, friendly team who share wins (big and small), drink proper tea, and genuinely care. The leadership is supportive, the kids are full of personality, and no two days are ever the same.
