We’re recruiting skilled and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join forward-thinking school communities that prioritise emotional wellbeing, progress, and belonging.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Supporting pupils with diverse special educational needs including:
- Autism (ASC) & ADHD
- Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Speech & Language Difficulties
- Global Developmental Delay & Learning Disabilities
- Physical or Sensory Needs (including visual/hearing impairments)
Providing consistent 1:1 and small group support
Using structured routines, visual aids, and therapeutic strategies
Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and families
Adapting your approach to meet each pupil’s unique communication style
Championing inclusion and emotional regulation using proven techniques
What We’re Looking For:
✔️ A genuine passion for supporting neurodiverse and vulnerable children
✔️ Previous experience working with SEN pupils (in schools, care, youth work, or similar)
✔️ Strong resilience, emotional intelligence, and calm behaviour management
✔️ Empathy and consistency — the kind that earns trust
✔️ Willingness to assist with personal care, mobility, or sensory needs where required
Preferred (but not required):
Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or Childcare Qualification
Team Teach / MAPA / Positive Handling Training
Makaton / BSL / PECS knowledge
Manual Handling or Hoist Training
Familiarity with EHCPs and SEND Code of Practice
