Protocol Education is currently supporting a well-established and inclusive primary school in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, in their search for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and contributing to a nurturing, inclusive learning environment.

Role Overview:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils with a variety of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and speech & language challenges

  • Provide tailored one-to-one support where required

  • Apply a patient, proactive, and compassionate approach to pupil support

  • Continuously reflect on your practice and take part in ongoing professional development

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children with SEN in educational or related settings

  • A calm, empathetic, and professional manner

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) is desirable but not essential

Safeguarding and Compliance:

As part of the school's commitment to safeguarding, all applicants must be willing to complete the following:

  • Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply via Protocol Education)

  • Two recent references covering the past 24 months

  • Overseas Police Check (if applicable)
