Protocol Education is currently supporting a well-established and inclusive primary school in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, in their search for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and contributing to a nurturing, inclusive learning environment.
Role Overview:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

Support pupils with a variety of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and speech & language challenges

Provide tailored one-to-one support where required
-
Apply a patient, proactive, and compassionate approach to pupil support
-
Continuously reflect on your practice and take part in ongoing professional development
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
-
Experience working with children with SEN in educational or related settings
-
A calm, empathetic, and professional manner
-
Strong communication and teamwork skills
-
A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) is desirable but not essential
Safeguarding and Compliance:

Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply via Protocol Education)

Two recent references covering the past 24 months

Overseas Police Check (if applicable)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
