Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Wakefield
Salary: £90–£105 per day (PAYE)
Contract: Full-time, Long-Term
Start Date: September 2025 (or sooner if you’re available)
We’re working with a welcoming primary school in Wakefield that’s looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs. This is a long-term opportunity in a setting that truly values its support staff and the impact they make.
In this role, you’ll be providing one-to-one or small group support for pupils with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, and speech and language delays. The school is looking for someone calm, patient, and consistent—someone who can build trust and provide the structure these pupils need to thrive.
Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting pupils with SEN in and outside the classroom

Working closely with the SENCO and teaching team

Assisting with learning activities, personal care (where required), and routines

Helping to create a positive, inclusive learning environment
What we’re looking for:

Experience supporting children with additional needs (school-based or otherwise)

A calm, empathetic approach and strong communication skills

A proactive, team-focused attitude

An understanding of SEND best practice (Thrive or Team Teach training is a bonus—if not, we can help you access it for free)
