Delivering pre-planned, tailored activities to meet the pupil’s developmental and sensory needs
-
Supporting communication through visuals, SALT-led interventions, and the attention bucket approach
-
Ensuring safety and wellbeing at all times—including personal care (the pupil wears nappies)
-
Working closely with another TA to co-create a nurturing learning space
-
Managing behaviour with calm, consistent strategies and clear boundaries
-
Liaising with staff and external specialists (SALT, OT, behaviour) for ongoing support
What We’re Looking For
-
Experience supporting children with ASD and complex learning needs
-
Confidence in personal care and understanding of sensory profiles
-
A calm, patient approach—especially during challenging behaviours
-
Someone who works well in a team and isn’t afraid to get creative
-
Knowledge of EHCPs, visual supports, and bespoke SEND interventions
