SEND Learning Support Assistant – Grays

Location: Grays, Essex
Pay: £89.47 - £95 per day
Contract: Full-time

Do you have the patience of a saint, the creativity of a storyteller, and the heart of a champion? Then we’ve got a role that’s right up your street.

We’re looking for a compassionate, proactive SEND Learning Support Assistant to join one of our brilliant Grays schools. You’ll be making a real difference every single day—helping children with special educational needs feel supported, included, and ready to shine.

What you’ll be doing:
Championing 1:1 support – Helping children access learning in a way that works for them
Tailoring learning – Assisting teachers with individual education plans that suit each child’s needs
Boosting confidence – Encouraging, guiding, and celebrating every little win
Keeping calm under pressure – Using positive strategies to manage behaviour and keep the classroom on track
Building trust – Working closely with teachers, parents, and professionals to support each child’s journey
Creating a safe space – Fostering an inclusive environment where every child feels they belong

You’ll be perfect for this if you:
• Have experience working with children who have SEN
• Understand that every child learns differently—and adapt your approach to suit
• Can bring patience, empathy, and a dash of humour to every day
• Hold the right to work in the UK (and a DBS, or are happy to get one)

Why you’ll love working with Protocol Education:
• Weekly PAYE pay—no umbrella headaches
• FREE CPD-accredited SEN training (including Thrive) to boost your skills
• Flexible work—choose part-time or full-time to suit your lifestyle
• A dedicated local consultant who knows the schools and the area
• Opportunities across a range of brilliant Grays schools

Ready to make every day count? Apply now and let’s find you a role where you can help children thrive—while loving what you do.
