We are supporting a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Enfield as they look to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant. This is a full-time role, offering the opportunity to work closely with a pupil who has additional needs and thrives with consistent, individualised support.

You’ll be joining a staff team that values collaboration, communication, and care—and you’ll play a vital role in helping one young learner access the full benefits of school life.

About the role:
You will be working one-to-one with a pupil who presents with special educational needs, including challenges around emotional regulation and social interaction. The pupil benefits from clear routines, sensory-friendly environments, and a calm, confident adult who can support both learning and wellbeing.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing tailored support during lessons to help the pupil engage with learning
  • Assisting with emotional and behavioural regulation strategies
  • Supporting transitions and promoting independence across the school day
  • Liaising with the SENCO and external specialists to ensure consistent and effective provision
  • Contributing to the development of a structured and supportive classroom environment

Who we’re looking for:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND in a school, care or community setting
  • A calm, empathetic approach and excellent communication skills
  • Confidence in working with pupils who may display anxiety or behaviour that challenges
  • A proactive, team-oriented attitude and willingness to follow consistent strategies
  • Additional training (e.g. Thrive, Team Teach) is an advantage—but if you’re not yet trained, we can help!

What you’ll receive from Protocol Education:

  • Weekly pay through PAYE – no umbrella deductions
  • Free access to our online CPD Academy, including Thrive training
  • A local consultant who listens, understands, and advocates for your preferences
  • Roles in supportive schools that appreciate the contribution of every staff member
