Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) – South Woodford

Are you a dedicated and nurturing individual with a passion for supporting children with additional needs? An outstanding primary school in South Woodford is seeking a compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team and provide 1:1 support for a child with complex needs.

About the Role:

  • Position: SEN Teaching Assistant (Full-time)

  • Location: South Woodford, London

  • Start Date: As soon as possiable

You will be supporting a primary-aged child who:

  • Is non-verbal

  • Has mobility challenges

  • Requires personal care support

  • Needs a calm, patient and consistent adult to help them access learning and feel safe and included

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience supporting children with SEN, particularly those with physical and communication needs

  • A caring and respectful approach to personal care and physical support

  • Strong communication skills, including non-verbal strategies such as PECS, Makaton, or visual timetables (desirable but not essential – training can be provided)

  • Reliability, patience, and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families
