Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant – Specialist SEND School

Salary: £83–£95 per day (PAYE)

We’re looking for a kind, calm, and committed Teaching Assistant to join the team at a specialist SEND school in North Tyneside, supporting children and young people aged 2–19 with a range of additional needs—including autism, PMLD, sensory impairments, and complex learning profiles.

This school is all about inclusion, care, and community. From early years to sixth form, students are supported by a close-knit team of educators and therapists who work together to build confidence, communication, and life skills.

What the role involves:

  • 1:1 and small group support for pupils with EHCPs

  • Using structured communication tools (PECS, Makaton, sensory supports)

  • Supporting students with emotional regulation and engagement

  • Collaborating with specialist staff to deliver tailored interventions

  • Helping to create a safe, consistent, and fun learning environment

What you’ll need:

  • Experience supporting children or young adults with SEND

  • A patient, adaptable, and proactive approach

  • Great teamwork and communication skills

  • Willingness to learn SEND strategies and get stuck in
