About the Role:
Protocol Education is looking for passionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistants to work in schools across Croydon. This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about supporting children and young people with special educational needs (SEN), including autism (ASD), ADHD, speech & language difficulties, and social, emotional, and behavioural challenges.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to provide tailored support, helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their goals.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN

Adapt learning materials and resources to meet individual needs

Assist in managing behaviour and encouraging positive social interactions

Support students with personal development and emotional regulation

Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external specialists

Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for learning
Requirements:
-
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (desirable but not essential)

Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills
-
A proactive approach to supporting students with additional needs

Flexibility and resilience in a school setting

An up-to-date Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
