SEN Teaching Assistant Full Time September 2024

Protocol Education are recruiting for a Full Time SEN Teaching Assistant working in a 1:1 position with a KS3 pupil with Autism at a Secondary School in the South Bradford area. The post will be for 1 term initially on a full-time basis.

What is the role?

As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to an individual student with special educational needs. You will work closely with the student and other members of staff and professionals to implement a personalised method of learning. It is vital that you are able to offer a nurturing and inclusive learning environment whilst building a positive relationship with the student through showing your patient and adaptable personality.

The ideal candidate:

-          Holds a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of young people

-          Has experience working as a Teaching Assistant or Support Worker with students with SEN – particularly with ASC

-          Understanding of specific learning difficulties such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

-          Familiarity with individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies and the ability to monitor progress and provide feedback to the SENCO and teaching staff

-          Has a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people

-          Holds or is prepared to apply for an enhanced DBS

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
