Special Needs Teaching Assistants Needed!

Protocol Education are working with an esteemed school in Sittingbourne who are dedicated to providing an exceptional education and support to pupils with a wide range of needs. We are currently seeking skilled and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistants to join the school with an immediate start available.

Position: Special Needs Teaching Assistant
Salary: £77-90 per day (depending on experience)

This role is temporary with the potential to become permanent.

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping the students develop into confident, resilient, and independent young adults. Your commitment and education will make a real difference in their lives.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Assisting the classroom teacher in delivering tailored lessons and activities
  • Provide 1:1 support to students, fostering their individual growth
  • Promote inclusion and create a nurturing and supportive learning environment
  • Help set challenging yet realistic targets for each child's development
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the holistic well-being of students
  • Encourage independence and empower students to reach their full potential

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children, either in schools or similar settings i.e. residential/ care homes
  • Previous experience as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant is highly desirable but not essential 
  • Knowledge of working with pupils with severe, profound and complex needs, including autism
  • Passionate about creating a positive impact on the lives of children
  • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
