Protocol Education is working in partnership with a well-established special needs school to recruit a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join their team from September. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with pupils with complex needs in an environment that prioritises wellbeing, collaboration, and personal growth—for both students and staff.


About the Role:

As an SEN Teacher, you’ll deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons tailored to meet the unique needs of each learner. The school supports pupils with a range of special educational needs, and the curriculum is designed to be flexible, inclusive, and creative.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering engaging and accessible lessons to pupils across a range of subjects and learning pathways

  • Planning and adapting schemes of learning that reflect pupils’ individual learning needs

  • Monitoring progress and implementing interventions where needed

  • Leading on curriculum development and subject area planning

  • Supporting the creation of an inclusive, student-focused classroom environment

  • Working closely with SLT, therapists, and families to ensure pupils are supported holistically

  • Delivering training and sharing best practice across the staff team

  • Liaising with the exams officer to manage qualifications and assessments


Key Requirements:

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification

  • Experience teaching in a specialist or SEN setting (highly desirable)

  • A creative and flexible teaching style, with a focus on pupil-centred learning

  • Strong understanding of SEND and ability to adapt teaching methods accordingly

  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach

  • Passion for supporting pupils with complex needs and helping them achieve their full potential
