SEN/Autism Teacher – Swindon

Hours: Full Time

Pay: QTS paid to scale + SEN Allowance

The Role
We’re looking for an inspiring SEN/Autism Teacher to join specialist settings across Swindon. This role is all about shaping meaningful learning experiences for autistic pupils, blending academic development with social communication and life skills.

It’s a chance to make a real difference, creating safe, supportive classrooms where pupils can thrive, grow in confidence, and develop the skills they need for independent futures.

You’ll work with small classes, designing creative and flexible lessons that meet individual needs. Collaboration is key, so you’ll join forces with therapists and dedicated staff teams to ensure every child gets the right support at the right time.

What we’re looking for:

  • A child-centred teacher who tailors learning to each pupil’s unique needs

  • Confidence in building positive, trusting relationships that boost self-esteem

  • Commitment to understanding autism theories and putting them into practice (experience with approaches such as TEACCH is a bonus)

  • Creativity, flexibility, and resilience to bring lessons to life

  • Primary, secondary, or specialist school experience welcomed

What you’ll get in return:

  • The chance to change lives for autistic pupils across Swindon

  • Small class sizes and supportive teams who’ve got your back

  • Opportunities to deliver a functional, engaging curriculum that builds real-world skills

  • Access to ongoing CPD, including training in good autism practice

  • The opportunity to be involved in school life beyond the classroom—whether that’s trips, clubs, or wider enrichment

  • A culture that values wellbeing, with access to employee assistance and healthy working lives initiatives
