Protocol Education are currently recruiting for a SEN Mentor to work within schools in Cheltenham and the surrounding area. We are seeking compassionate, motivated, and reliable Mentors to, work directly within education settings to support children who may be experiencing social, emotional, or behavioural challenges.
As a Mentor, you will work one-to-one and in small groups with pupils, helping them to build confidence, develop resilience, and engage positively in their learning journey. You will be a positive role model, empowering children to reach their potential both inside and outside the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide tailored mentoring support to children identified as needing additional help.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage personal growth and self-esteem.
- Work closely with teachers, school staff, and families to ensure consistent support.
- Help children to develop strategies for managing emotions, behaviour, and social interactions.
- Monitor progress and contribute to reports on pupil development.
About You
- Experience of working with children or young people, ideally in an education or mentoring capacity.
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
