SEN Learning Support Assistant: Newcastle, Tyne and Wear

Key requirements:

  • Previous experience in educational support or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of Special Educational Needs (SEN) in children.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting children with SEND on a 1:1 and small group basis, in classroom and during playtime.
  • Ensuring that the pupils can integrate as fully as possible in the activities generally undertaken buy the other children in the class and make progress.
  • Provide positive reinforcements, praise and rewards to the pupils.
  • Develop knowledge of the particular needs of the children and seeking advice from the SENCo, class teacher and outside agencies required.
  • Collaborate in the effective execution of individualized education plans.
  • Cultivate an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
