We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing SEN KS1 Learning Mentor to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Leeds. This full-time role is ideal for someone who wants to make a genuine difference in the lives of children with additional needs—helping them thrive both academically and emotionally.
About the Role:
As a KS1 SEN Learning Mentor, you will work closely with children who may have:

Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
-
Speech, language, or communication needs
-
ADHD or other attention/processing needs
-
Social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges
You will:
-
Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring and emotional support
-
Support children in developing social skills, confidence, and resilience
-
Work collaboratively with the SENCO, class teacher, and outside agencies
-
Help pupils access learning by breaking down tasks and offering alternative strategies
-
Build consistent, trusting relationships that support positive behaviour and wellbeing
✅ What We’re Looking For:

Experience working with children with SEN in a school or care setting

Strong knowledge of KS1 or early childhood development

Calm, patient, and emotionally intelligent approach

Ability to manage behaviour positively and de-escalate challenging situations

A genuine passion for helping vulnerable pupils succeed
