Job Title: SEN KS2 Teaching Assistant – Wakefield
Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire
Salary: £90–£115 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-time, Long-Term

We’re looking for a compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to support KS2 pupils with additional needs in a Wakefield primary school. This isn’t just about classroom help—it’s about being a steady hand, a calm presence, and a champion for every child’s success.
About the role:
You’ll work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to support children with complex needs, including autism, ADHD, and speech & language difficulties. Whether it’s managing transitions or supporting learning plans, you’ll play a key role in creating a safe, structured, and positive learning space.
Day-to-day might include:
1:1 and small group support in core subjects
Implementing EHCP strategies and tracking progress
Working closely with parents and carers
Promoting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
Using visual aids, sensory tools, or communication strategies
You should have:
✅ Relevant experience supporting children with SEND (especially KS2)
✅ A calm, nurturing approach and strong behaviour management
✅ Resilience and emotional intelligence
✅ Understanding of autism, trauma-informed practice or SEMH
✅ DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply)
Bonus points if you have:
⭐ Thrive, Team Teach or Makaton training
⭐ Experience in specialist settings or PRUs
⭐ Level 2 or 3 TA qualification
