We’re looking for a nurturing and reliable SEN Teaching Assistant to support KS1 pupils with additional needs in a friendly Wakefield primary school. If you know the power of patience, play, and positive reinforcement—you’ll feel right at home here.

What you’ll be doing:
Supporting children with SEND (e.g. autism, speech & language needs, SEMH)
Working 1:1 or in small groups on tailored learning activities
Using visuals, sensory resources and routines to reduce anxiety and build trust
️ Supporting communication and emotional regulation
Collaborating closely with the class teacher and SENCO

We’re looking for someone with:
✅ Experience working with children with SEND (especially in EYFS or KS1)
✅ A calm, consistent approach to behaviour and transitions
✅ Bags of empathy, patience, and positive energy
✅ A DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)

Bonus if you’ve got:
⭐ Team Teach, Makaton, or PECS training
⭐ Thrive Approach certification (or interest—we offer it free!)
⭐ A Level 2 or 3 TA qualification
