SEMH Teaching Assistant

Pay: £90 – £110 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)

 

A specialist school in Enfield is seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team full-time. This is a fantastic opportunity to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them re-engage with learning and achieve their full potential.

You will play a key role in supporting pupils both in and out of the classroom, working closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external agencies to deliver consistent and nurturing support.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students with SEMH needs on a one-to-one and small group basis

  • Assisting in the development and delivery of tailored intervention programs

  • Encouraging positive behavior management strategies and restorative approaches

  • Building strong, supportive relationships with students to foster trust and progress

  • Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals

  • Promoting emotional regulation, resilience, and independence among students

  • Supporting pupils’ academic engagement, social development, and wellbeing

 

Requirements:

  • Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service

  • Eligibility to work in the UK

  • Experience working with SEMH, challenging behavior, or in a pastoral support role

  • Strong interpersonal skills, resilience, and a calm, nurturing approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
