SEMH Teaching Assistant

Start Date: ASAP
Pay: £90 – £110 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)
A specialist school in Enfield is seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team full-time. This is a fantastic opportunity to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them re-engage with learning and achieve their full potential.
You will play a key role in supporting pupils both in and out of the classroom, working closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external agencies to deliver consistent and nurturing support.
Key Responsibilities:

Supporting students with SEMH needs on a one-to-one and small group basis

Assisting in the development and delivery of tailored intervention programs

Encouraging positive behavior management strategies and restorative approaches

Building strong, supportive relationships with students to foster trust and progress

Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
-
Promoting emotional regulation, resilience, and independence among students

Supporting pupils’ academic engagement, social development, and wellbeing
Requirements:

Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service

Eligibility to work in the UK

Experience working with SEMH, challenging behavior, or in a pastoral support role

Strong interpersonal skills, resilience, and a calm, nurturing approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
