We’re looking for someone brilliant to support young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs—helping them feel safe, confident, and ready to learn.
This isn’t about ticking boxes. It’s about showing up each day with patience, empathy, and a few good tricks up your sleeve to help students find their calm and their confidence.
This welcoming school in Darlington is known for its community feel. Staff and students work together in a calm, supportive environment where relationships come first. The leadership team are hands-on, approachable, and committed to making sure every young person feels safe and valued.
They have a strong focus on inclusion, with pastoral and SEN support at the heart of everything they do. For staff, that means you’ll always feel backed up—whether you’re trying a new strategy, celebrating a win, or navigating a tricky day.
It’s the kind of place where teamwork really matters, and where every role—from class teacher to support staff—plays a huge part in helping students grow in confidence and resilience.

-
Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
-
Patience, empathy, and confidence to offer consistent support
-
A proactive approach to building trust and encouraging independence
What you’ll get from us:
-
A full-time, long-term role where you’ll make a genuine impact
-
