The Role – SEMH Teaching Assistant Reigate
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
- Create a safe, structured, and positive learning environment
- Support emotional regulation, behaviour management strategies, and pupil wellbeing
- Work alongside class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to deliver tailored support
Candidate Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or SEND needs
- A calm, empathetic, and resilient personality
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
- Confidence in de-escalating challenging situations and adapting to classroom needs
