SEMH Teacher – Walsall
Full-time | £130 – £180 per day | SEMH Specialist School

Looking for a role where every day makes a difference? We’re working with a specialist SEMH school in Walsall that supports young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. It’s a place where challenges are met with patience, structure, and care—and students are supported to grow in confidence and independence.

The role
This is more than a teaching job. It’s about building trust, creating calm, and showing up for students who haven’t always had it easy. You’ll be part of a team that helps pupils feel safe, heard, and capable of achieving more than they thought possible.

You’ll be:

  • Planning and delivering lessons that meet students where they are—academically and emotionally.

  • Using positive behaviour strategies to support pupils and create a respectful learning space.

  • Working alongside a brilliant team of specialists, from TAs to therapists, to deliver joined-up support.

  • Building strong, consistent relationships that help students thrive both in and out of the classroom.

What we’re looking for

  • QTS (or equivalent teaching qualification).

  • Experience working with SEMH pupils or in alternative education settings.

  • Confidence managing challenging behaviour with calm and compassion.

  • An understanding of trauma-informed approaches and the impact of adversity on learning.

  • A team player who believes in the power of education to change lives.

What you’ll get from us

  • Ongoing CPD and access to behaviour and SEN training.

  • Support from a dedicated consultant who knows the SEMH space inside out.

  • A role that offers genuine impact and the chance to be part of something meaningful.

  • Invites to local events like termly coffee mornings and Educator Recognition Awards.

Important to note: You must have the right to work in the UK to apply.
