Daily Pay: £85 – £105 (PAYE, depending on experience)

We’re looking for SEMH Support Assistants who can bring calm, care, and consistency to students facing emotional and behavioural challenges. The young people you'll work with may have experienced trauma, anxiety, or been excluded from mainstream education—and they need someone who truly sees them.
This role is perfect for those who aren’t fazed by a challenge and know how to build trust in the toughest moments. You’ll work across schools and alternative provisions in Newcastle, so a willingness to travel up to an hour is essential.
What you’ll be doing:

Supporting pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs

Helping students regulate emotions, manage anxiety, and re-engage with learning

Using positive reinforcement and relational approaches

Being a consistent, compassionate presence in their day

Adapting your approach to different settings and behaviours
What we’re looking for:

Someone proactive, patient, and emotionally aware

Experience in SEMH, SEN, PRUs, youth work, or a related setting

A DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply for one)

Right to work in the UK
