Secondary Teaching Assistant

Location: Southwark
Start Date: September 2025

Love supporting teens through their trickiest years? We’ve got just the role.

A brilliant secondary school is looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their team this September. It’s a full-time, long-term role perfect for someone who wants to make a real difference—especially if you’ve got a calm head and a big heart.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting students across KS3 and KS4, including in core subjects like English, Maths and Science
  • Providing 1:1 and group support—academic and emotional
  • Helping learners build confidence and stay on track
  • Working closely with teachers and SEN teams to personalise learning

You should apply if you:

  • Have experience working with young people (schools, youth work, tutoring etc.)
  • Are confident in managing behaviour and building rapport
  • Have a flexible, proactive attitude (and a good sense of humour helps!)
  • Are up for learning new skills—especially around SEND or EAL support

Extra points if:

  • You’re Thrive trained (or keen to be—we offer it for free!)
  • You’ve worked with learners with Autism, ADHD or SEMH needs

Why Protocol Education?

  • ✅ Weekly PAYE pay—no umbrella company hassle
  • ✅ Free CPD, including Thrive and behaviour training
  • ✅ Friendly, local consultants who’ve got your back
  • ✅ A proper match with schools that value support staff

This is more than classroom support. It’s about showing up for students when it counts—and helping them believe in themselves.
