Cover Supervisors – South Bristol & Somerset

Protocol Education is recruiting Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across South Bristol and Somerset. This role is ideal if you want flexibility, variety, and the chance to gain valuable classroom experience without the responsibility of planning or marking.

The role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons in the absence of the classroom teacher

  • Maintain a positive learning environment and manage behaviour effectively

  • Support students with their learning and encourage engagement

  • Work collaboratively with school staff and follow school policies

What you’ll gain

This is a role that gives you options. Many educators enjoy the variety of day-to-day placements in schools close to home, while others prefer the routine of longer-term assignments in those schools they particularly enjoy. Both options are available, giving you control over your schedule. Along the way, you’ll build strong connections with different schools, creating a network that can lead to further opportunities and even permanent roles.

You’ll be paid weekly through PAYE at a competitive rate of £13.75 – £15 per hour. We also provide free CPD training, including Team Teach, and can offer guaranteed work agreements if you’re looking for consistent income. Social events, termly awards, and ongoing support from a dedicated consultant ensure you feel valued and part of a professional community.

Who we’re looking for

We welcome applications from graduates considering a career in teaching, experienced support staff seeking a new challenge, or professionals interested in education. To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • Strong behaviour management skills, rooted in warmth, positivity and consistency

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

  • Flexibility to adapt to different schools and classrooms

  • A genuine enthusiasm for working with young people

Apply today to begin a role that combines flexibility, development, and the chance to make a positive impact in schools across your area.
