Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Walsall
Salary: £90–£110 per day
Contract: Full-time, Term-Time Only
Start Date: September 2025

Want to work in a school but not sure where to start? Start here.

This welcoming secondary school in Walsall is on the lookout for a confident, reliable Cover Supervisor to join their team this September. It’s the perfect role for anyone thinking about a future in teaching—or just loves working with young people and wants term-time hours.

No formal teaching experience? No problem. If you’re great with groups, happy being the grown-up in the room, and up for a challenge (and a few laughs), we’ve got you.

What’s a Cover Supervisor?
You’ll be stepping into classrooms when teachers are off, making sure pupils stay on task and follow the plan that’s already been set. No planning. No marking. Just strong presence and clear instructions.

You’ll love this role if you:

  • Are considering teaching but want to build experience first

  • Like the idea of working in schools, but not full-time teaching

  • Want a role that fits within school hours

  • Are calm, confident, and good at giving clear instructions

What’s on offer:

  • Consistent work in one supportive school

  • Structured days and clear plans—so you’re never winging it alone

  • Training provided and support from school and your consultant

  • Opportunities to move into teaching or support roles long-term

What you need:

  • A degree or experience working with young people (sports coach, youth worker, tutor—anything where you’ve led a group!)

  • Confidence to manage a classroom solo

  • Flexibility and a good sense of humour

With Protocol Education, you also get:

  • Weekly PAYE pay

  • FREE CPD and classroom behaviour training

  • Fast-track registration

  • A consultant who’s got your back (and your timetable)
