Protocol Education is working with a thriving secondary school in London to recruit an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Teacher of Science.

About the Role:

  • Plan, resource, and deliver engaging and challenging lessons in Science

  • Set high expectations to motivate and inspire pupils of all abilities

  • Foster intellectual curiosity and encourage pupils to think critically and independently

  • Use assessment and feedback effectively to track progress, identify misconceptions, and support pupil achievement

  • Contribute to curriculum planning, collaborative development, and subject-specific revision programmes

  • Play an active role in enrichment activities, such as science clubs, competitions, trips, and events

  • Support the wider life of the school through duties, pastoral care, and modelling the school’s values

  • Share best practice and engage in professional learning through CPD and network opportunities

Role Details:

  • Location: London

  • Contract: Full-time, permanent

  • Start Date: September 2025 (or negotiable for the right candidate)

  • Salary: Competitive (MPS/UPS, dependent on experience and qualifications)

What We’re Looking For:

  • A degree in Science or a closely related discipline

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and the right to work in the UK

  • Excellent subject knowledge and a strong grasp of effective teaching pedagogy

  • Experience of raising attainment and inspiring students in a secondary setting

  • Confidence in using assessment and data to drive pupil progress

  • Strong classroom management and behaviour strategies delivered with fairness and respect

  • Commitment to collaboration, continuous improvement, and sharing best practice

  • A genuine passion for Science and belief in the potential of every pupil

Desirable:

  • Experience delivering enrichment activities that extend learning beyond the classroom

  • Evidence of reflective practice and openness to feedback and professional growth
