Faith, wellbeing, and community—all in a day’s work.
We’re working with a compassionate and inclusive secondary school in North Shields that’s on the lookout for a School Chaplain who can offer spiritual guidance, a listening ear, and a steady presence for students and staff alike.

Whether you’re an ordained minister, trained chaplain, or someone with strong pastoral experience and a heart for youth work, this role is all about being there when it matters most. You’ll be part mentor, part confidant, part calm-in-the-storm.

What your day might look like:

  • Offering one-to-one pastoral support to pupils and staff

  • Supporting the school’s ethos of kindness, inclusion, and respect

  • Creating a safe, confidential space for students of all faiths and none

  • Working closely with safeguarding and wellbeing teams

What the school offers:

  • A nurturing leadership team that truly values chaplaincy

  • Strong wellbeing culture across staff and students

  • Opportunities for further training and interfaith work

  • A space where your ideas are listened to and your impact is real

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Have experience in chaplaincy, youth work, counselling, or ministry

  • Understand the pressures young people face today

  • Can build trust quickly and show empathy effortlessly

  • Bring creativity, sensitivity, and a sense of humour (always a bonus)
