Help bring books to life for primary pupils

We’re looking for a caring, enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a friendly primary school in Bradford, supporting pupils with their reading skills.

If you love seeing that lightbulb moment when a tricky word finally makes sense, or hearing a pupil get hooked on a great story, you’ll feel right at home here.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Work with individuals and small groups to boost reading confidence and fluency

  • Support pupils with comprehension, phonics, and vocabulary building

  • Encourage a love of reading through positive reinforcement and engaging activities

  • Work closely with the class teacher to track progress and celebrate wins

You’ll need:

  • Experience supporting KS1 or KS2 pupils, ideally with literacy

  • Patience, positivity, and great communication skills

  • A creative approach to making reading sessions engaging

  • (Bonus) Experience with phonics programmes or reading interventions
