Fenham, Newcastle | Full-time | September Start
£89.38–£95 per day | Term-time only | Core hours: 8:30 - 15:30
Fresh out of uni and ready to make a difference? Whether you're a psychology grad curious about behaviour support or a sports graduate who knows the power of outdoor play, this could be your perfect first step into education.
We’re working with a primary school in Newcastle to find a calm, energetic, and grounded 1:1 SEND Support Assistant to work closely with a lively Year 3 pupil. The school supports children with high needs and has a hands-on SENCO who’ll be right alongside you. The school is a welcoming, community-driven primary school that prides itself on inclusion and nurturing every child as an individual. The team is experienced, supportive, and passionate about giving pupils the tools they need to thrive.
The role:
You’ll be the child’s go-to adult. They’re sociable, active, and love being outdoors, but can find classroom expectations tough, especially when things feel overwhelming. Demand avoidance and dysregulation can crop up, so the ability to stay calm, patient, and consistent is key.
Perfect for:
- Psychology or sports graduates looking for hands-on experience
- Future teachers, youth workers, or educational psychologists
- People who understand that relationship first makes everything else possible
No classroom experience? No worries. If you’ve got the right attitude and a knack for connecting with kids, the school is open to you.
What’s in it for you:
- Weekly PAYE pay: no umbrella company in sight
- FREE Thrive training to boost your skill set and confidence
- Friendly, expert support from your Protocol Education consultant
- Access to our CPD Academy full of SEND and behaviour training
If you think you could be the difference that helps one young person feel safe, seen, and supported, apply now!
