Psychology Graduates – Student Support Roles in Secondary Education

Are you a Psychology graduate seeking meaningful, practical experience in education and child development?

Protocol Education are working closely with a large secondary school in Newcastle with a well-established SEND department. This is an excellent opportunity for Psychology graduates looking to build their understanding of neurodiversity, behaviour, SEMH needs, and inclusive practice before pursuing Educational Psychology, Teaching, or further postgraduate study.

The role:

  • Supporting students with a range of additional needs within the classroom and SEND department

  • Assisting teaching staff to implement personalised learning strategies

  • Promoting confidence, independence, and wellbeing

  • Building strong professional relationships with students, staff, and families

Working through Protocol Education:
You will be employed by Protocol Education for a minimum of 12 weeks, giving you:

After this initial period, there may be an opportunity for you to transfer directly onto the school’s contract, depending on performance and staffing needs.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Psychology or a related field

  • Passion for supporting young people with SEND

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children
