Job Description:

As a Primary Teacher PPA (Planning, Preparation, and Assessment), you will be responsible for covering teachers' PPA time across various primary schools in the Merton area of Greater London, England. Your role involves delivering engaging and effective lessons to primary school pupils, ensuring their educational progress and well-being during the teachers' absence.

Job Duties:

  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons in accordance with the curriculum
  • Manage the classroom effectively and maintain a positive learning environment
  • Assess and provide feedback on students' progress
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure continuity in learning
  • Attend staff meetings and professional development sessions

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Knowledge of the primary curriculum
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet students' needs

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field

Experience:

Prior experience teaching in a primary school setting preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of child development and learning theories
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to cater to diverse learning abilities
  • Excellent classroom management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate certificate in Education
  • Specialist subject knowledge in areas such as Maths, English, or Science

Working Conditions:

This position involves working on a contract basis, typically covering full-time hours during regular school terms. You may be required to travel between different primary schools within the Merton area. Benefits include being paid through PAYE and opportunities for Continued Professional Development (CPD).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
