We are currently looking for dedicated and passionate Nursery Nurses and Nursery Staff to join primary schools across Croydon this September. Position Overview:
As a Nursery Nurse or Nursery Staff member, you will play a key role in the early education and care of children in primary school nursery settings. Your primary responsibilities will include supporting the development of young children, assisting with day-to-day activities, and working alongside the teaching team to ensure a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Nursery Nurse Responsibilities:

  • Provide care, supervision, and educational support to children aged 2-5 years.

  • Assist with planning and delivering activities that support early years education and developmental milestones.

  • Encourage children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development in a nurturing and engaging manner.

  • Work with the nursery team to maintain a safe, clean, and organised learning environment.

  • Assist in monitoring and observing children’s progress, recording key development stages and milestones.

  • Ensure children’s well-being by adhering to safeguarding and health & safety regulations.

Nursery Staff Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the day-to-day running of nursery classes, supporting teachers and nursery nurses.

  • Supervise children during structured playtime, ensuring their safety and engagement.

  • Support children with their early literacy, numeracy, and motor skills development.

  • Help with classroom set-up and preparation for activities and lessons.

  • Maintain positive communication with parents and carers regarding children’s progress and needs.

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and welcoming learning environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience working with young children, preferably in a nursery or early years setting.

  • A Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Early Years Education, or a related field (desirable but not essential for some roles).

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and support children effectively.

  • A patient, caring, and nurturing approach to working with young learners.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.

  • A genuine passion for early years education and child development.

  • Ability to work effectively within a team and communicate well with parents and school staff.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

  • Experience with children with additional needs (SEN) is advantageous.
