Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Rotherham ‍

Are you an experienced HLTA looking to make a real difference in the classroom?

We’re working with several primary schools across Rotherham that are on the lookout for reliable, passionate Higher Level Teaching Assistants to join their teams. These schools have strong, structured support systems and are proud of their inclusive, collaborative approach. If you’re confident leading small groups and love helping pupils progress, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Delivering small group interventions across core subjects

  • Supporting class teachers with planning and prep

  • Stepping up to lead learning sessions when required

  • Playing a key role in creating a positive and calm learning environment

  • Helping children stay on track—emotionally and academically

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience as a HLTA in primary settings

  • Solid knowledge of the national curriculum

  • Flexibility to adapt to different classroom styles and routines

  • A strong team player with a ‘can do’ attitude

  • Someone confident with behaviour management and school procedures

  • Show initiative and independence in supporting learning

  • Build brilliant relationships with staff and pupils

  • Follow safeguarding and school policies to the letter
