Full-Time | September Start | Specialist SEND Provision

We’re working with a fantastic specialist setting in Gateshead, known for its nurturing environment and dedicated support for children with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). They’re looking for a full-time Teaching Assistant to join their team this September.

This is a place where teamwork matters — where staff work together to create a safe, supportive space for pupils to communicate, engage, and thrive.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting pupils with complex needs, both one-to-one and in small groups

  • Assisting with personal care, communication, and sensory activities

  • Helping to create an environment that supports emotional wellbeing and meaningful learning

  • Working closely with teachers, therapists, and specialist staff

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has experience with PMLD, SEND, or personal care (or is eager to learn)

  • Brings a calm, caring approach and genuine enthusiasm for supporting children

  • Is confident supporting personal care and using specialist resources

  • Can commit to a full-time role from September

  • Is Thrive trained (or keen to complete this free with Protocol Education)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
