  Pastoral / Behaviour Support Assistant

Secondary Academy students aged 11-16 years

 

This Academy is seeking a compassionate, reliable and proactive Pastoral / Behaviour Support Assistant to join our student support team. This position is ideal for someone who is committed to the well-being and personal development of young people and can provide effective support to students who may require social, emotional, or behavioural guidance.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day pastoral and behavioural support to students across all year groups
  • Support the implementation of behaviour management strategies under the direction of pastoral leaders
  • Build positive relationships with students and act as a trusted adult, particularly for those facing barriers to learning
  • Monitor attendance, punctuality, and uniform compliance, addressing concerns in line with school policy
  • Liaise with parents/carers and external agencies where appropriate
  • Assist with restorative conversations and reintegration meetings
  • Work closely with teaching staff and Heads of Year to ensure effective communication and intervention
  • Support safeguarding processes and maintain accurate pastoral records

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
