Not all heroes wear capes—some carry walkie-talkies, know every pupil by name, and have a sixth sense for when someone’s having a tough day.

This school in West Denton is looking for a Pastoral Mentor with heart, humour, and heaps of patience to join their supportive inclusion team this September. If you're the kind of person who listens first, supports always, and believes every pupil deserves a champion, keep reading.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting pupils with social, emotional, or behavioural challenges

  • Running check-ins, restorative chats, and confidence-boosting interventions

  • Working alongside SLT, pastoral leads, and safeguarding teams

  • Helping build strong, positive relationships with pupils and families

What the school offers:

  • A welcoming, inclusive ethos where pastoral care is a priority

  • Opportunities to grow—training, CPD, and team development

  • A culture that values kindness, communication, and consistency

  • A proper team you’ll want to stay part of

What you’ll need:

  • Experience in a school, youth work, or mentoring setting

  • A calm, compassionate approach—and great listening skills

  • Flexibility, resilience, and a strong sense of purpose

  • Bonus: Thrive trained? Even better. Not yet? We’ll help you get there for free!

This is the kind of role where you don’t just work in a school—you become part of its heartbeat. Ready to make a real impact?
